 Canned Food: -

Canned food is a type of processed food in which the food is pre-cooked to some extent or almost fully cooked that type of food is normally referred to as Canned food. Canned food is also known as the tinned food. The name canned food is to be driven from the method of the storage of the food which originally means from the food that is stored in the container. Canned food is one of the most transformative innovations in the history of food preservation because it is one of the best things to preserve the food. Canned food is a type of method for preserving the food and it is a method that allows perishable foods such as vegetables, fruits, meats, seafood, dairy products and ready to eat meals that can be stored safely in the canned for months or even for years also even without refrigeration. The technology of the canned food is specially built on the fundamental principle of preventing the food. They can preserve the food by preventing the microbial growth in the food. This can be done by creating a hermetically sealed environment for the food and after creating this environment they can applying the heat to the food in order to destroy all the spoilage organisms and pathogens. This is the best method of food storage because when we put the food in the air tight container or canned then we sealed the container so that the food cannot able to connect with the air and moisture, the food can be sealed in such an air tight container that no air should be able to enter in the contains and then there is no chance of the microbial growth and after packing the food, the food can be heated so that to destroy all the microorganisms that is already present in the food. Over the decades, the canned food has played a pivotal role in the global market of food security, military logistics, emergency preparedness, hunger mitigation, and the development of modern food industries. 

Canned food is completely sealed pack airtight container that is very useful to preserve the food not only for months but for years also. The food that can be placed inside that airtight container or tin can is totally safe and nutritious without compromising any of the nutrients. The food can be prevented and can be safe from the microbial growth because the microorganisms that spoil the food can require oxygen to grow. Sealing the food in the airtight container can prevent the exposure of oxygen in the can to the food that can slow or mostly stop the oxidation reactions. When there is no supply of oxygen in the food then there are no growth of the microorganisms and those microorganisms that are already present in the food can be destroy when the can or the tin that contain the food is heated up. This type of can food is specially designed for the people those have busy schedules and can have no time to prepare the food. 

Types of Canned Food: -

Canned foods are available to us in a wide variety based on the nature if raw material, method of preservation, acidity level and intended use. As there are different purpose and different methods of food preservation, similarly there are different types of canned food. The wide variety of canned food are explained below. 

Canned fruits: -

Canned fruits are basically referred to the fruits that can be sealed pack in the tin can after their peeling and cutting. The fruits cannot be directly placed in the container after cutting but these fruits can be preserved in some type of syrup, juice or water to maintain the freshness of the fruits. The fruits that can be placed in the syrup, juice or water inside the container can maintain their freshness, taste, aroma and nutrition. Fruits are usually high-acid products, so they require only mild heat treatment. The canned fruits can be most popular on the global level. The canned fruits can be made by washing, peeing, cutting and chopping the fruits and after the cutting and chopping of the fruits. These fruits can be placed in the different types of liquids which includes sugar syrup, fruit juices and plain water. After the peeling, cutting, chopping and slicing the small pieces of fruits can be placed in these liquids. These fruits can be placed in these liquids to maintain the freshness, sweetness of the fruits. These fruits can be used to maintain the moisture of the fruits and it also very helpful to improve the overall profile of the fruits. 


Canned Vegetables: -

Canned vegetables are the referred to as the vegetables that can be sealed pack in the tin container after their peeling and cutting. The packing process of the canned vegetables is very similar to the canned fruits but the only difference between the canned fruits and canned vegetables is the water in which chopped fruits and vegetables can be preserved in the tin container. The canned vegetables can be prepared by the washing, chopping and blanching of the vegetables before sealing them in the container. The difference between the canned fruits and canned vegetables is their water in which the fruits and vegetables should be kept. The fruits can be preserved in the sugar syrup, different fruit juices and water whereas the chopped vegetables can be placed in the brine which is basically the saltwater solution. The blanching of the vegetables is very essential because blanching helps in the maintaining the green color of the vegetables and it also improves the texture before the final canning process. These vegetables are extremely useful for quick cooking because they eliminate the need for peeling, cutting and boiling. As these vegetables can be prepared in the form that they can prepare the meal in the very quick time. 



Canned Meat: -

Canned meat is also a type of meat which can be preserve in the packed in the tin container along with natural juices, oil, brine and gravy. The different types of meats can be placed in the container such as chicken, beef, pork and mutton. Meat is usually cooked, seasoned and sometime cured before being sealed in the cans. This meat can be packed in its natural juices, oil, brine and gravy. As the meat is fully seasoned and it is placed in the oil, and gravy that make the meat most flavorful.  Canned meat is very high in protein, and it also provides a long-lasting source of nutrition especially in the areas where the refrigeration is limited.
