 What are Stories?

Stories are basically the journey of something that can be told and can be in written form that can contain all the details from background to the present, from start to end, and the story can contain all the deep details like what is happened, who are involved, on what place these things had happened, what is the reason behind them and what is the present situation of this story (if it is still happening in the present time) and what is the future of this situation of this stories (if it is happened in the present and if future is possible) means all the details can be mentioned in this journey and that journey we will refer to as story. The collection of these types of multiple journeys refers to as "stories". The story is also referred to the description or the narration of how something happened, what event took place, who was involved, and how it changed over time. It can contain the details of the beginning of the event of how or when something happened, the middle part of the story which involve the curiosity of what happened next and how it developed and the last and the ending part of the story that involve how it is becoming the end and what is the today's situation of this. These types of stories can be imaginative or realistic. Both types of stories can be written. If the story is real then only those things can be which really happened, the people which are really involved in that situation and on which place the incident had happened can be written in the stories and if the story is imaginator then the writer can write the story according to its views and thoughts.  

Food Stories: -

The food stories refer to the stories that are related to the food. There are many types of the stories but those stories in which mainly the food is included is refer to as food stories. Food is the main and the basic component of the life and the love of many people. Food is much more than just we eat to satisfy our hunger. Food is the basic part of our culture, our identity and our history.  Every dish, every ingredient and every recipe has a tale hidden behind it which is the tale of discovery, invention and evolution. These tales are to be called as "food stories". 



As the world is filled with many recipes, many types of ingredients and many types of dishes which comes from different state, different countries and different culture. As the world is full of many foods and as in the same way the world of food is filled with fascinating stories. From that types of stories some are royal, some are accidental and some are a result of necessity and creativity. The food stories tell us about the food that how the particular food dish can be invented, how the food dish can be made by accidental or by planned. As an instance, from the invention of pizza in the streets of Nepal's to the creation of biryani in the royal Mughal kitchens, every famous food we eat today has travelled through times and traditions. 


How food stories began: -

If we talked about the food then we can say that the basic thing of the food is the ingredients that we get from nature so for the ingredients we can say that all that ingredients can have their different origin but they do not have any story behind the growth of the ingredients, the story is only behind the origination of the dish. In the earlier times, people fed on the raw ingredients like the early man eat raw fruits, raw vegetables and raw meat of animal or human beings. After the discovery of fire, the early man combines the fire with the ingredients and the spices that taste good together and that's the point from where the series of the food stories are begins. Likewise, the combination of different ingredients with other different ingredients, and spices the new dish had made.  Over the centuries, the cooking became a form or art and expression, and this art gave a birth to the new dish that leads to the origin of new food stories. As the civilization grew and people started travelling from one place to another then their food also travelled with them to the new place and the same dish is difficult to find on that new place and if by any chance we will able to find the ingredients and spices of that dish on new place then it is very difficult to find the same taste from that ingredients. And if we try to make the same dish on new place then the taste, texture and look of the dish is surely different as compared to the original dish and that innovation of the new dish can leads to the origin of new food story. 



Why Food Stories Matter? 

The origin of food stories is not just for the recipes, but these stories can also matter for our history, our culture, our tradition that become the inspiration for our new generations, so that they come to know that how and from where their particular favorite dish has come from? The food stories also matter to let us know the interesting facts about the particular dish.  Here are some of the reasons that why the food stories matter: -



They Preserve History: - 

The food stories play a very important role in preserving the history. Because this food tells only the story of the food but in the description of the stories it is also mentioned that at what place the particular dish will be invented and by whom. So, these food stories can directly store the history in them. As an instance, biryani can be invented by the Mughal Mumtaaz when she told their servants to make a dish full of nutrients, then they made biryani and from these stories, we don't get the information of how biryani is invented but we also come to know that Mughals can also live in India.

Show Cultural Exchange: -

In the ancient time, when people move from place to another, then it will take many days for them to reach at their destination. At that time, there were not many hotels and restaurants are there on the way, so they had carried their food from home, and they get the enough quantity of food with them that they remain their food with them until they reached their destination. When they try to make the same dish at the new place then with the difference in the spices and the taste of the ingredients there is an innovation in the dish has evolved. This cultural exchange can give a birth to many new cuisines.
