Myths About Plant-Based Food Sources: -

There are lots of myth related to Plant-Based food sources surrounds us that often discourage people to adopt plant-based diet. But that myth is not so true. So, let's have a look on those myths and the truth behind those myths.


1. Myth: Plant Based Diet Lack Protein: -

  • A myth related to plant-based food sources are there that plant-based food lack in their proteins. In compared to animal-based food sources plant-based food sources always have less proteins.
Truth: -

  • Plant-Based food sources include rice, wheat, Legumes, pulses, lentils, beans, quinoa, tofu, nuts and seeds which are very rich source of proteins so that they can provide enough protein to a person. A well-balanced plant focused diet can meet protein need without animal products.

2. Myth: You Can't Build Muscle on Plant-Based Diet: -

  • Every gym trainer or every gym trainee think that the process of weight gaining, and weight loosing cannot be done successfully. So, they refer different or chemical based protein in order to build muscle.
Truth: -

  • Many athletes and bodybuilder thrive on plant focused diets which contain proper protein sources like legumes, nuts seeds and whole grains. These sources are a full stock of proteins, vitamins and minerals that make our body strong and strength training helps us in muscle growth.

3. Myth: Plant Based Diet Are Always Healthier: -

Truth: 

  • It is true that plant-based food products are healthy and good for our body but not every product is good ad healthy for our body l. If we talked about highly processed food like junk food (burger, noodles, pizza) and chips, soft drinks, this type of product can be considering as unhealthy food. Moreover, deep fried food or the food which contain excess of refined oil are also considered as unhealthy.

4. Myth: Plant Based Diet Are Boring and Restrictive: -

  • Some people think that having plant focused diet is very boring and Restrictive because they have to intake the same product diet regularly because according to their thinking there is very less item are available in plant-based products.

5. Myth: Plant Based Diet Are Not Filling: -

  • For plant-based diet there is another myth in our mind that plant-based food cannot satisfied a man for his diet. It means after eating plant-based food products the person feels again hungry in some couple of hours.

  • We all know that the plant-based food products contain rice, wheat, whole grains, legumes and nuts which are rich in fiber and protein, which makes us to feel full and satisfied for longer time.

6. Myth: Going Plant Based Is Expensive: -

  • Everyone think that Plant-based food sources are very expensive so having plant-based food product for whole month or whole year is kindly expensive and are not affordable for each and every person.
Truth: 

  • The truth is that the plant-based food products are cheaper than animal-based food product and dairy products. If we talk about staple diet, then it contains rice, lentils, beans and vegetables which is cheaper than any other products. Planning meals wisely can make plant-based eating budget friendly.
