What are Fruits?
FRUITS: -
- Fruit is defined as the part of the plant that develops from a flower and can contain the plant's seed. Fruit is an edible part of the plant that can bear seed. We can get various types of fruits from the plants and trees that typically contains the seed.
- Fruits are the good source of vitamins, minerals, fiber as well as proteins that helps to provide us energy. These fruit proteins are very beneficial for human body as it gives energy that help us to do pour regular work.
TYPES OF FRUITS: -
1. Berries: -
- A botanical terminology state that the berry is a fruit which contains seeds and pulp. Basically, these berries are very juicy and are very sweet from inside but have little bit tangy flavor also. The berries are of different types, so their taste is also dependent on their type. These Berries are rich in antioxidants, vitamin C and fiber. These berries protect us against aging and chronic diseases.
- Example: - Strawberry, Blueberry, Raspberry and Blackberry.
2. Citrus Fruits: -
- Citrus fruit is also a fruit like berries which have seeds and pulp, but these citrus fruits have different taste like these fruits have tangy and sour pulp and are very rich in their acidic flavor. Citrus fruit belong to the citrus genus which comes from the Rutaceous family. Citrus fruits are rich in Vitamin C which boost our immunity and very useful and helpful for skin health also.
- Example: - Orange, Lemon, Grapefruit and Lime.
3. Tropical Fruits: -
- The word "tropical" refers to the geographical location where the temperature is hot and humid, and this location is between the tropical region of (Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn) and the fruit of these location is to be known as tropical fruits. For tropical fruits, we can also say that the fruits that grow in warm, hot or humid temperature is to be known as tropical fruits. These tropical fruits contain digestive enzymes like bromelain and papain that help to aid digestion.
- Example: - Mangoes, Bananas, Pineapples and Papaya.
4. Stone Fruits: -
- As it clear from its name that stone fruit is a fruit that contain a stone type seed inside it. A stone fruit is a type of fruit that have outer flesh surrounds a hard stone or shell at the center. A stone fruit have thin skin, a fleshy body, a hard stone and an inner seed. Stone fruits are high in Vitamin A and C that promote skin and eye health.
- Example: - Peaches, Cherry, Apricot, Plum.
5. Dried Fruits: -
- Dried fruits are those fruits that are free from moisture. In dried fruits water content can be removed in order to preserve that fruit for longer use. Dried fruits are also known as dry fruits. Dried fruits have concentrated sugar and fiber in them which help us to make our bone and body good.
- Example: - Raisins, Dates, Figs and apricots etc.
