What is Fresh Food?
As it clear from its name "Fresh" means it is newly product that is free from all other artificial resources. Fresh food basically refers to that food that is in their natural state. Fresh food is free from all the preservatives, artificial colors and artificial additives. We get fresh food from many places like we get it from fields directly, from vegetable market, and the vendors that can do the door-to-door delivery of vegetables and other fresh food products.
Fresh food means the food is available in their original form that it is not processed, or it is unprocessed, and no experiment can be performed on that food item.
Types of Fresh Food: -
1. Fresh Fruits: -
- Fresh fruits are the fruits that are edible, and free from artificial colors.
- Fresh fruits are the product of a plant or a product of a tree that contains seed.
- The taste of fresh fruits is sweet because it contains natural sugar which is good for health and that fruits can also be able to consume by a diabetic person but in very small amount.
- We can eat fresh fruits in their raw form or in a minimal processed state. The minimal process can enhance the taste of the fruit, but it mainly depends on the fruit and the recipe of the dish. These fruits are also used in salads, smoothies and desserts.
- Fresh fruits are also rich with vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants.
- Example: - Fresh fruits include the example of apples, bananas, oranges, berries, grapes, etc.,
2. Fresh Vegetables: -
- Fresh vegetables are those vegetables that are harvested from the field for the people so that they get freshly made food with these fresh vegetables.
- Fresh vegetables are also edible and are a part of the plant but as the vegetable are different similarly the part of the plant is also different like roots, stem, flower, leaf, fruit and some vegetables are the seeds of the plant.
- Fresh vegetables are typically harvested for the direct consumption which is known for their high nutritional value and perishability.
- Fresh vegetables are rich in fiber, vitamins, and essential nutrients which is very useful for our body.
- The best way to consume the fresh vegetables are in raw form, steamed, or slightly cooked to retain their nutrients or in any beautiful and tastiest food recipe.
- Example: - Spinach, Carrots, Potatoes, Tomatoes, Broccoli, Cauliflower, etc.
3. Fresh Dairy Products: -
- "Fresh" in the dairy products refer to the products that have been pasteurized where pasteurized means that the milk is heated to some extent to kill the harmful bacteria and made it fit for consumption.
- "Dairy Products" refer to the products that have been made with milk of different animals. The quality, taste and color of the milk depend on the producer or the animal of the milk like the buffalo's milk is purely white in color whereas the milk of cow is slightly yellow in the color.
- Fresh Dairy Products are intended for consumption soon after processing, rather than being processed further into products with longer shelf lives. The intended for consumption soon after processing because if we kept our milk for longer time then it may get spoiled.
- Fresh Dairy Products are loaded with Excellent sources of calcium, proteins and probiotics.
- Fresh Diary Products can also be consumed in raw or minimal processed state.
- Fresh Dairy Products should be stored at a cold temperature to maintain its freshness.
- Example: - Milk, Yogurt, Cheese, Butter and many more things also.
4. Fresh Meat & Poultry: -
- Fresh Meat & Poultry products are those products which we get from animals and specially from mammals. In meat and poultry products, Meat refers to the animals which are mammals and Poultry products refers to the birds which domesticated by many people or we can say that domestic birds.
- Fresh Meat are edible portion of the animals in which some part of the animal is being processed to make it fit for eaten.
- Fresh Meat & Poultry Products are high in proteins, iron and essential amino acids.
- Fresh Meat & Poultry Products needs proper storage and cooking to avoid spoilage and bacteria growth. Moreover, eating some Meat Products raw and uncooked may harm us and having health issues.
- Example: - Beef, Chicken, Lamb, Pork, etc.
5. Fresh Seafood: -
- Fresh seafood refers to the food which we get from aquatic or marine life. As it clear from their name that seafood is a food that we get from the sea and sea can come under the category of aquatic and marine life, so the food we get from sea or marine life is called or refers toa s seafood.
- Fresh seafood means the food is fresh that it has not been frozen or processed in any way, and it is sold in its natural state either from chilling or iced. Chilling or iced can be done because it is necessary for the sea food to prevent the food from spoilage.
- Fresh Seafood is very rich in omega-3, fatty acids, which is beneficial for heart health.
- It is necessary to consumed seafood soon after purchase to get the best quality and best taste of the food, otherwise if we kept the seafood for long time, it may get spoilage and if we eat that food, it may affect our health also.
- Example: - Fish, Shrimp, Crabs, Oysters, and Lobsters.
6. Fresh Grains & Legumes: -
- Fresh Grains & Legumes are the product which basically refers to the undried seed of the plant or often to be considered as the part of the pea family.
- Grains are the seeds of the grasses which often as a staple food, whereas Legumes are the part of the pea family which often eaten as raw.
- Fresh Grains & Legumes can be eaten as raw, cooked or sprouted for better nutrients absorption.
- Fresh Grains & Legumes provide energy, fiber, and plant-based proteins which are very good and useful for our body.
- Example: - Rice, Wheat, Oats, Lentils, Beans and Chickpeas.
- Fresh food contains lot of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fiber. These nutritional values are very useful for our health. Fresh food is more valuable and more effective as compared to processed food. These various nutrients and proteins help our body parts to perform their function smoothly and they also make our body and bones strong. It also very helpful for our bone health and used to boost our immune system.
- Fresh food has their natural colors and flavors as well as natural color also. It may also contain natural sugar through which some food items are very juicy and tasty. both raw and processed food have good taste but eating fresh food in raw state specially fruits and nuts are very healthy and enjoyable with meals also.
- With the term, Artificial Additives and Preservatives means that the chemical that have been using in the food items from which the life span of the food is increased, and it does not get spoiled very soon but these chemicals may affect our body, sometimes the company owner can color their product with the help of this the food item look more color and attractive. these all the things can be harmful for us which can be done only in processed food. 'Fresh food is the food which is free from all the chemicals, colors, and artificial flavors.
- By taking fresh food as raw we get all the important nutrients and vitamins. Fresh food can also boost our immune system and make our bone healthy. This food is very high in dietary fiber, promoting better digestion and gut microbiome balance.
- Fresh food contains many nuts and fruits which is eaten as raw and if we talked about other elements that are also be taken as raw so it does not contain any oil and it has all its natural sources like natural taste, natural sugar, natural color which help us to maintain our weight or we can say that by taking the fresh food as raw or slightly processed does not affect our weight.
- As explained above that fresh food contains fruits and that contains lot of water which help us to keep our body hydrated. Like in summer, all of us need more water to keep our body hydrated but we are not able to drink that much water so in that case taking watermelon is the best option because a watermelon contains 70% of the water which help our body to keep hydrated even in summer also.
- As we all know, Fresh Food is Fresh that is free from all the artificial colors and preservatives so that's why the chances of spoilage of fresh food are high as compared to frozen food or processed food and to keep the freshness of the food and prevent the food from spoilage food the proper storage management is also.
- In some cases, Fresh Food also refers to as Seasonal Food because some food is available for some season only and importing of that food from other place is very expensive and area not affordable for each and every person.
- Fresh Fruits and Vegetable and dairy products require careful handling to prevent them from contamination and bacteria growth and fresh meat and seafood require refrigeration or freezing to stay fresh if we fail to handle them with care it may destroy or spoil our food.
- Organic and locally sources fresh food can be more expensive than processed alternatives.
